Spakenburg NL - boat lift
The world’s first boat lift uses Benincà barriers
Spakenburg is a village overlooking lake Eemmeer near Utrecht in the Netherlands. This place has been devoted to fishing since the Middle Ages. Today, its harbour has been declared a protected area.
Our client Portacon has helped build an innovative boat lift, perhaps the first in the world! By integrating 4 Benincà VE.650 barriers, appropriately modified by moving the gear motor to the base, boats can pass from a side channel to Lake Eemmeer in self-service mode. As a result, operation is smooth even under intensive use conditions!
